You will be responsible for:
- Demonstrates through behavior FHPG’s Core Values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship and Teamwork as outlined in the organization’s Performance Excellence Program.
- Flexible hours, being available for daytime, evening and weekend classes as needed.
- Evening classes are generally from 5-8 pm and weekend classes are generally from 8-1 pm.
- Dependable transportation.
- Willing to instruct Diabetes Education class at Florida Hospital’s Tampa, Carrollwood and Wesley Chapel locations.
- Able to creatively and within ADA guidelines, adapt individual and group classes as needed with short notification.
- Able to navigate and/or learn to navigate Cerner and Harbor systems.
- Keeps tasks organized in order to stay current with charting which must be completed by Friday of every week.
- Participates in maintaining high level of patient and physician satisfaction.
- Willing to participate in complete and efficient documentation of services rendered for proper billing.
- Willing to provide cross-over support in teaching positive behavioral changes within the Medical Weight Loss Program.
- If an RD-CDE, will assist in providing dietary and nutritional education support within the MWL Program.
- Supports positive trend in patient outcomes of care with teaching strategies.
- Identifies opportunities to increase volume of patients in all classes.
- Assumes responsibility for identifying and providing for own CEU needs for professional development.
- Attends weekly staff meetings on a quarterly basis. (Minimum of 4 a year)
- Participates in one Florida Hospital community service activity per year.

2 years in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting involving diabetes treatment and education.

MA/MS Degree in Nursing, Dietary, Pharmacy and Exercise

Current Florida Licensure with active CEU status and commitment to acquire Certified Diabetes Educator status within accumulation of 1000 hours of direct diabetes education from hiring date. All reported hours towards the CDE Exam will require supportive documentation.

3 years in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting involving diabetes treatment and education. (Preferred)

Certified Diabetes Educator status achieved. (Preferred)
