Position Title: Pharmacy Technician

Part Time: 24 hours guaranteed. Opportunity for more hours to cover sick calls, vacations, and needs of business.

Must be able to work weekdays during afternoons/evenings (till 7:15pm) and Saturdays. Must have a valid Massachusetts Technician License. Preferably has a National Certification or able to obtain within 6 months.

Description of Position: Assists Pharmacist in filling and dispensing prescriptions for customers. Assists customers at counter, retrieves prescriptions, rings up customers. Orders and stocks drugs, supplies, and over-the-counter merchandise. Updates patient records and inventory, processes invoices, and makes accounting entries using computerized system.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Assists Pharmacist in updating patient profile and entering prescription information into the pharmacy computer to extent allowable by State law. Preserves patient confidentiality. Answers phones and provides prompt and courteous member service including answering questions at pharmacy window, directing members to product location.

• Assists Pharmacist in filling prescriptions by bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, re-stocking, labeling, and pricing prescriptions under direct Pharmacist's supervision. Prepares third-party insurance claims, to the extent allowable by State law.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.50 - $20.50 per hour
