Florida Tech has multiple immediate openings for Challenge Course Facilitators to assist the Challenge Course Operations Department with implementation and supervision of experiential experiences for participants. Facilitators are hired on an as-needed, temporary basis to complement internal staffing resources. Work hours will be sporadic and employed on an as needed basis. This position oversees the use of elements of the Florida Institute of Technology's high and low ropes Challenge Course located in Fellsmere, Florida.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of current trends in challenge course technology and programming including the use of static and dynamic belay systems
- Knowledge of experiential education, student development, and outdoor education theory
- Ability to facilitate personal and group development through initiatives and low/high challenge course events
- Ability to remain calm during stressful situations
- Ability to work effectively with groups of 10-20 participants
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Ability to organize and manage tasks
- Ability to resolve conflicts
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to handle the physical demands of the position
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Work may involve the performance of heavier physical tasks such as walking over rough or uneven surfaces, bending, stooping, lifting and/or carrying loads up to 50 pounds, climbing, and exposure to heights. The work environment may involve exposure to various elements such as chemicals, dust, fumes, cold, heat, noise, and environmental conditions where work exposes the employee to potential injury. Duties may require that work be performed in adverse weather conditions. Work may require exposure to dangerous equipment requiring the use of protective clothing or gear.
