Job description
Western State Hospital is seeking internal applicants for a Charge PNA to provide work direction to PNAs. Interacting with patients, complying with hospital safety rules and following accreditation standards. Includes teaching and role models therapeutic interactions based on recovery/trauma informed care principles. Serves as the liaison between PNAs and Charge RN.

1 Elm 1st shift
1 Hickory 2nd and 3rd shift
1 Oak 2nd and 3rd shift
2 Elm 2nd and 3rd shift
2 Oak 1st and 2nd shift
If selected for this position, employee may be subject to an additional probationary period of up to 12 months.
Minimum Qualifications
******Open to WSH Employees Only****** Applicants must have demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of recovery/trauma informed care. A high school graduate or equivalent is required. Must have completed the one year probation / Waived to 6 months with recommendation from current RNC.
Preferred Qualifications
CNA and/or previous psychiatric experience preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of program activities (recreation, leisure skills, communication, vocational and educational) preferred. Bi-lingual Spanish and English is a plus.
Special Requirements
The successful applicant must pass a criminal background investigation, drug screening test and employment reference check. The applicant must have the ability to perform at the level of physical demands noted on the Employee Work Profile and the verified ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
