Job Title: Distribution Center Asset Protection Officer
Reports To: Distribution Center Asset Protection Manager
Full-time/Part-time: Full- or Part-time
FLSA Status: Hourly, non-union
Level of Supervision: Moderate
Work Pace: Self-paced and based on traffic flow
Summary
Associates in this position engage in work which puts each and every Customer 1st. This job contributes to the success of Fred Meyer by:
§ Serving our business community by professionally assisting management in the protection of our property and personnel.
Fred Meyer also requires that all Associates perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
§ Models “Customer 1st” behavior, delivers and encourages other Associates to deliver legendary Customer service.
§ Provides complete and accurate records of all in-coming and out-going traffic in accordance with the Kroger Logistics Asset Protection Manual and site specific Procedure Manuals.
§ Monitors pedestrian traffic.
§ Conducts rover/patrols of interior and exterior of DC in accordance with site specific Procedure Manuals.
§ Responds to emergencies in and around the Distribution Center.
§ Reports and documents all Policy/Safety violations.
§ Collects and records preliminary information needed for theft and accident investigations.
§ Conducts CCTV surveillance in accordance with site specific Procedure Manual.
§ Must be able to pass a site specific Proficiency Exam within 90 days of employment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None required.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals; ability to write reports; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, Customers, and the general public; ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Required:
§ Minimum 18 years of age.
§ Ability to pass drug test.

§ Military, private security and/or retail security experience
§ Completion of the following classes:
§ Blood borne Pathogens
§ Hazardous Spill Response
§ Ability to operate the following special equipment, machinery, and/or special tools: forklift, tugger, and motorized cart
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
§ Valid driver's license
