CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY COUNSELOR - RESIDENTIAL

We are currently looking for a Chemical Dependency (QHP) Counselor in our Residential Rehabilitation Unit.
Summary:
The QHP Counselor serves as the lead staff on duty, responsible for communicating with the on-call supervisor, and bridging communication between medical and clinical staff. Provides direct care to clients and facilitates all clinical functions as scheduled. Provides crisis intervention to clients and their family as needed. Determines levels of care for those seek assistance after hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
1. Conducts assessments for clients presenting for admission and throughout their stay in the respective residential unit.
2. Assists nursing staff in transferring clients to appropriate facility in a psychiatric or medical crisis.
3. Provides crisis intervention for clients and their families as needed.
4. Provides individual and group counseling using evidence-based techniques.
5. Assists clients with assignments and daily living skills as needed.
6. Completes shift assignments as assigned including intake, comprehensive evaluation, progress notes, treatment planning or revision. Documents timely and in compliance with agency policy and OASAS regulatory requirements.
7. Assists CASAC-Ts and milieu staff with documentation of activities and progress, continuing care plans and discharge summaries as needed.
8. Attends in-service training, maintains CASAC/ QHP status. Continues education to meet CEU requirement and remain current.
9. Ensures quality care, ethical standards and trauma informed environments are maintained at all times.
10. Maintains client confidentiality in accordance with program policy and procedures and State and Federal regulations.
11. Maintains safe and orderly workspace and work practices.

Pay: $24.72 - $35.71 per hour

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- alcoholism and substance abuse treatment service delivery: 1 year (Preferred)
- counseling people with substance use disorder treatment: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CASAC or other QHP status (Preferred)
