Position Title: Child Development Center: Child Care Center Teacher
Department: 3000|VP Student Affairs
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a rich teaching/learning environment which encompasses each learning domain: language, cognitive, gross motor, fine motor, self-help/adaptive, social-emotional
Maintain an organized, safe and appealing environment conducive to the optimal growth and development of children
Plan and implement daily program of activities developmentally appropriate based on Louisiana Department of Education Early Learning Guidelines. Plan and gather necessary tools (documentation, TS Gold, etc.) to assess the needs of the individual child for curriculum planning
Review each child’s progress and develop plan to promote each child’s growth and development
Maintain positive relationships with children and families with open communication concerning all aspects of the child’s day
Mentor student interns
Attend required trainings mandated by state licensing
Maintain records of children’s progress
Maintain confidentiality of information
Maintain good communication with enrolled families by responding appropriately to their interests, requests, and needs
Prepare for special events; including, but not limited to, holidays, dress-up days, deadline dates, parent-teacher conferences, scholastic book fair week, picture days, staff work/planning days, Homecoming parade, Mardi Gras parade, Winter Wonderland, Spring Fling, Pre-K celebration, special guests, awareness activities, etc.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of one-year experience in an early learning center preferred;
Minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA),
Associate Degree or equivalent preferred.
Must have, or able to obtain, Louisiana Department of Education Early Childhood
