POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. With direction from the Learning Center Director, the Child Watch staffis responsible for the care of member's children while the parent remains on site. Child Watch staff providea safe and clean environment while engaging children infun and stimualting activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Facilitates a program environment that invites exploration, promotes positive play, and welcomes children
- Emphasizes personal safety and emotional well-being with the children and parents.
- Practices basic safety and health policies; guides children in eating habits, clean-up routines, bathroom habits and general development.
- Develop and foster a positive and stimulatingatmosphere
- Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities
- Must be a positive role model.
- Learn all emergency procedures and familiarize self with the first aid equipment.
- Adheres to child care programstandards including safety and cleanliness standards.
- Inspect room each day before children enterfor possible hazards, clean and vacuum room prior to closing each day.
- Gathers information for required program records.
- Performs other duties as requested by director.

PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT:
Ashtabula YMCA
Monday-Friday 8:30am-12:00pm
Monday- Thursday 5:00pm-8:00pm
Saturday 8:30am-12:00pm
Geneva Off Site Program
Friday 12:00pm-5:00pm
