The Salvation Army Roswell Corps is looking to fill a Christmas Assistant position. The successful candidate for this position will have good communication skills, a knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and be able to work with the public in a professional, compassionate manner.

The Christmas Assistant will recruit, coordinate, and schedule volunteers and seasonal employees for aspects of our Angel Tree and Kettle Campaigns, including but not limited to helping with intakes, paperwork, scheduling workers at various locations, Angel Tree Warehouse process and distribution. This person will coordinate angel tree location pickups form various locations and coordinate the preparation needed at participating Angel Tree locations and Kettle locations. This position will participate as necessary in other seasonal activities, supply and maintain volunteer documentation and prepare thank you letters to store managers and volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid New Mexico’s Driver’s License
• Be able to communicate both verbally and written
• Knowledge of Microsoft programs
• Ability to learn Salvation Army programs
• Be able to work with the public in a professional, compassionate manner
• Organized and detailed
• Self-starter
• Previous experience with recruiting, coordination, and scheduling preferable

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. The employee must have the ability to operate a telephone, desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
