The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. The CIB Strategy & Innovation team is seeking 3 Line of Business Strategy Leads to join its leadership team and leadership teams of the CIB line of business the position supports. In collaboration with senior business and functional leaders across CIB, Strategy, Digital & Innovation (SDI) and the enterprise, the Line of Business Strategy Leads will lead development, documentation, execution and ongoing monitoring and reporting of CIB's strategy and strategy initiatives at a line of business level.

In this role, you will:
  • Act as an advisor to leadership
  • Develop or influence highly complex business and technical needs across groups and functions
  • Provide principal level strategic consulting services to client organizations
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges
  • Deliver solutions that are long-term, large-scale, and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking, and coordination of highly complex activities and guidance to others
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges
  • Partner with executive management across Wells Fargo to define the business strategy then create and execute corresponding business plans and initiative
  • Plan, direct, and control the formulate strategic business objectives for assigned business unit
Key responsibilities include the following:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders within CIB, Strategy, Digital & Innovation (SDI) and broader WFC to drive consensus, deliver forward-looking solutions, and bring ideas for cross-firm collaboration.
  • Lead the annual strategic planning process at the line of business level, working closely with a range of stakeholders across the organization including risk, finance, business lines and other functional partners.
  • Ensure alignment of the strategic planning process with regulatory expectations and evolving industry practices.
  • Coordinate with LOB and strategy team to facilitate the development and execution of business strategies and initiatives.
  • Conduct periodic review and reporting of progress on strategy execution through measurement of KPIs and OKRs in collaboration with line of business and functions across the organization.
  • Develop presentations for both internal and external audiences, communicating overviews of the line of business, it's strategy and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage risk, regulatory and audit related deliverables and programs in a timely manner.
  • Advocate for documentation, processes and approvals required to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with LOB and key functions to ensure dependencies required to execute strategic initiatives are prioritized, funded and monitored.
  • Partner within the CIB Strategy & Innovation team and cross-WFC LOBs and functions to ensure line of business relationship information is captured within client relationship information prepared by the CIB Strategy & Innovation team.
The successful candidate will have very strong written communication skills, with excellent writing and project management skills. They must also have excellent oral communication skills and a proven ability to influence senior leaders across a matrixed organization to create engagement and drive results. This leader will have strong interpersonal effectiveness with an impeccable reputation for integrity, accuracy, consistency, and business acumen.

Required Qualifications:

7+ years of Strategy and Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:
  • Managing Director or Director level experience (compensation negotiable based on level of experience)
  • Prior or existing Corporate & Investment Banking experience
  • Prior or existing experience in a supporting Line of Business: Banking, Markets, Commercial Real Estate
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams on specific business strategies or deal executions
  • Ability to create relationship breadth and depth, while navigating the regulatory, compliance and legal intricacies of working at a highly regulated organization
  • Strong communication skills and experience presenting to C-Level executives
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals and work under deadlines in a dynamic fast-paced environment
  • Strong listening and communications skills with the ability to convey complex information and ideas simply and clearly
  • Strong understanding of current industry trends, constantly seeking new ideas to bring to thinking
  • Strong understanding of navigating a complex and large global banking organization
  • Demonstrated experience around inclusivity in leading and the ability to bring along all key stakeholders into the strategy to ensure the business is operating within our risk framework
  • High energy with a passion for innovation and developing strategic high-growth partnership models

Pay Range

$120,400.00 - $250,000.00 Annual
