Civil Engineer – EIT

We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and experiencedCivil Engineer in Training (EIT)to join our growingDesign Management Servicesteam Cary, NC. This role works closely with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and specialists to deliver projects to a variety of clients includingmunicipalities, counties, commercial and industrial entities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Be involved inCivil Engineeringrelated project aspects includingstudies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Projects may include planning, modeling, and design of facilities such as water and wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, pump stations, utilities (water transmission, gravity sanitary sewer mains, force mains, etc.), hydraulics and hydrology, drainage design, site plans, roadway, and other miscellaneous civil design projects.
  • Ability to execute engineering best practices forcivil engineeringprojects for a wide variety of clients, adapting to new environments quickly.
  • Assist senior staff in the production of project plans, specifications, scheduling, budgeting, technical memorandums and cost estimates
  • Assist senior staff with construction management tasks such as material submittal reviews build reviews and coordination with Contractors
  • Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections, and assist with data collection, compilation and assessment for infrastructure projects
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, cities/clients, and other public agencies
Requirements:

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of related experience in municipal, state, and land development engineering
  • Active Engineer in Training (EIT) certification for the State of North Carolina required or in the process of completing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be flexible, well organized, accountable, and dependable
  • Physically able to perform work in the field

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience using computer assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents (examples include software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GIS)
  • Demonstrated success in achieving scope, schedule, and budget goals.
