The position will be located in the Charlotte area but will be able to work remotely.

The Clinical Application Specialist provides technical support, training, and workflow management for all clinical and business software. As our product champion, you are the “face to the customer”. Responsible for providing training and direct support to facility users and prospective users via phone/web meetings and onsite visits. Helps prepare and facilitates training based on users’ and the organization’s needs, assists with implementations and system updates, performs quality assurance audits of business applications, assists with the development and maintenance of system policies and procedures, knowledge base, and system improvement plans. Helps with testing and testing scripts and understands the high-level architecture of the application and the associated interfaces/integrations. Serves as a subject matter expert and other duties to support our organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Works directly with the Training manager for Clinical IT system training and support for new and existing clinics, providers, and clinical staff. Utilizes USRS materials, LMS systems, competency checkoffs and other documentation as appropriate.
  • Ensures a standardized and consistent approach relating to the implementation and training of new and existing clinics.
  • Accountable for clinical system implementation, configuration, testing, support and ongoing enhancement of applications and other office automation products used by providers and clinical staff as assigned.
  • Ensures clinical workflows, data management and integration processes are implemented in a manner that will support reliable, accurate, scalable, and timely reporting to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provides support for application module updates, upgrades, and advanced clinical applications.
  • Actively supports and promotes systems standardization, utilization, and best practices in clinical information technology.
  • Promotes system security, patient confidentiality and helps ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (i.e., HIPAA).
  • Assists in designing and expanding training and development programs based on both enterprise and individual needs.
  • Monitors and reviews the progress of providers and clinic staff through on-site rounding, surveys and follow up.
  • Trains and supports the development of “super users” of clinical information technology and related capabilities.
  • Represents the organization to the provider community and clinic staff and serves as an advocate in promoting the use of information technology in the clinical setting.
  • Works in concert with the Director of IT and Vice President, Physician Practice Technology to select, design and implement systems.
  • Conducts problem identification, root cause analyses and timely and accurate resolution for issues and requests escalated from the Help Desk.
  • Serves as an enterprise subject matter expert (SME) on clinical applications and other clinical support systems.
  • Ensures the clinical information technology environment and processes are documented, inventoried, maintained and centrally stored per company standards.
  • Able and willing to perform work activities from a company office location, remotely, in the field and outside of normal working hours.
  • Provides high quality customer support to users with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, timeliness, and professionalism.
  • Able to travel to company clinic locations as needed to perform on-site rounding, training, support, technical work, issue resolution, relationship building, and company meetings as needed.
  • Participates in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides on-call duties supporting both Mammography and other IT applications requiring 24-hour availability when scheduled.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Licensing/Certification:
  • Radiology Technology or IT/Informatics degree/Training or CIIP.
  • Computer skills – proficiency in Microsoft Products (Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio)
  • Ability to adapt and learn multiple clinical applications
  • Ability to work in and support multiple systems.
  • Preferred experience with the following: SCI/R1, Medinformatix, Fuji Synapse EIS, Volpara HUB/MRS/Aspen Breast, and associated mammography applications, Well Health, Fluency, Powerscribe, and Sectra PACS.
  • Preferred experience in clinical process analysis, design, and improvement.
  • Preferred experience in training clinical technology software.
Experience (years and type):
3+ years of Medinformatix RIS or other RIS/clinical application support experience preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Computer desk with multiple applications running at once. Overtime may be required if IT downtimes have created patient backlogs. Also, OT may be required when covering for the Clinical Application Support person. Otherwise- 8a-5pm M-F.
