Job description
Instructors for the College for Lifelong Learning program provides classroom instruction and support to new and continuing students in short term, non-credit learning opportunities at the college. These courses include specific topics including History, Art, Physical Education, and others as determined.
The instructor of the specific subject area will provide applicable instruction and, or experience in a positive learning environment so as to enhancement the quality of life for adults in the Greater Dayton region.

Principal Accountabilities
- Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
- Meet scheduled classes in accordance with college policy
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies
- Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student’s needs
- Employ available instructional technology when appropriate
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Exercise stewardship of College facilities and materials
Requirements
- Applicable degree, certification and/or knowledge in the instructional area and curriculum required
- Experience in working with the older adult population preferred
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with the College of Lifelong Learning staff and the students required
