PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

  • Leads company’s execution of commercial strategies involving competitive tender exercises (i.e. customer RFPs/RFQs).
  • Works directly with Business Development and Service Line Leadership to facilitate alignment on proposals when developing customer value proposition.
  • Responsible for preparing and reviewing tenders. Coordinate the support of key stakeholders (HR, Legal, Finance, etc) to guarantee fulfillment and timely delivery of offers through correct approval process (i.e. Delegation of Authority).
  • Assist Business Development and Service Line Leadership capturing market intelligence (i.e. market trends, customer award criteria, competitors’ performance, etc).
  • Participate in updating company’s price book periodically and review associated service definitions. Develop and inform company on appropriate pricing strategy in order to win competitive tenders.
  • Participate in service line strategy, research and develop business cases, and prioritize new and emerging technologies (or new services).
  • Clearly encapsulate and express Cypress’ differentiators for each service line and capitalizing on them in the commercial process.
  • Consider all relevant topics related to scope, technical aspects, services, and all relevant commercial topics such as payment, billing, taxes, etc., in a transparent and quality matter to support customer requests and internal requirements.
  • Perform tender risk assessment according to the company´s internal guidelines. Identify and mitigate risks in the proposals aligned with all stakeholders both technically and commercially.
  • Continuously and actively seek and apply lessons learned and best practices to the proposal bid life cycle.
  • Fully utilize Oracle Fusion and NetSuite CRM as a platform for tender management.
  • Evaluate, plan and communicate future local market conditions and align the strategy to take advantage of any changes or opportunities.
  • Commercialize business opportunities through a well-executed and timely product commercialization process in order to meet top-line sales and profit targets and provide best-in-class deliveries to our customers.

COMMUNICATION

  • Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as business development, operations, finance, and HR to support product successes and market growth.
  • Working with business development and service line leads to collect and analyze technical, financial, marketing, and sales information for the product line.
  • Participate in engaging select customers on current and future business opportunities in respect to new and emerging technologies.
  • Work with Business Development & Marketing to navigate ideas and opportunities through commercialization process.
  • Maintain and communicate Commercial Status Reports to Management.
  • Coordinate and support marketing on materials and sales support as needed.
  • Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders internally.

  • Costs incurred should be within approved budget and processed within agreed time frames and following the relevant financial policy and procedure.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5-8 years of successful commercial experience in the energy industry is preferred.
  • Ability to successfully interact with and influence diverse groups of people to deliver innovative commercial contract offerings to secure forecasted financial budgets whilst continually delivering customer commercial expectations and satisfaction.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Productive work habits including attention to detail, follow through and the ability to prioritize and complete work activities in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think strategically and be operationally rigorous
  • Credible leader, financially astute with strong commercial, contractual & negotiation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government and clients
  • Ability to operate successfully within a matrix management environment
  • Proficiency in computer use and Microsoft Office Suite Programs
