Job Summary: The Commercial Lender/Sr. Commercial Lender will maintain and generate quality commercial, agricultural, and consumer loans all while ensuring bank customer satisfaction.


Education: A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or agricultural/finance and formal credit training is required.


Experience: A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a lending or credit type field.


Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Interviews applicants to determine loan requirements and gathers pertinent information for loan applications.
  • Analyzes applicant’s financial status, credit, and asset evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan, establishes credit limit through written and/or oral assessment.
  • Resolves uncertainties relating to customer application information through inquiries with applicant or creditors.
  • Structure loans within loan policy. Approves loan within specified limits or champions loan opportunities for proper approval.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with customers, bank staff, local professionals, centers of influence, and community organizations.
  • Participates in community and professional organizations and events.
  • Manage loan portfolio including renewals, modifications, updated credit analysis, collections, and portfolio monitoring.
  • Maintains and/or generates a loan portfolio with a mixture of loans that represent the local market.
  • Coordinates the Banking needs for customers and cross sells bank products.
  • Maintains credit quality in loan portfolio via monitoring credit files and borrowers.
  • Serves as an Officer of the Bank when dealing with customers and potential customers.
  • Develops new business.
  • Manages past due loan accounts.
  • Participates in an on-going comprehensive training program to maintain awareness of compliance regulations; complies with operating controls and procedures; accountable for compliance with applicable consumer laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
