New Business Development

  • Develop new loan relationships; actively involved in instilling and maintaining a positive sales environment through education of the Bank’s products and services.
  • Use CRM system to track sales activity.
  • Interview prospective loan applicants and requests specific information related to loan or credit application; resolve questions regarding application information.
  • Make sales calls to potential clients and current clients to increase deposits for the bank and achieve goals.
  • Assist in meeting annual bank deposit and loan growth goals as assigned by senior management.
  • Represent the Bank in various community, civic, and community reinvestment functions to further enhance the Bank’s image and develop additional business; assist the Bank in establishing and maintaining market position in the financing arena.
  • Solicit, negotiate, and help underwrite and coordinate the closing of complex consumer, residential, equipment, SBA, commercial building and business loans in compliance with lending policies and procedures.
  • Develop business checking and deposit relationships with customers and seek opportunities to promote business for AMG National Trust Bank.
  • Understand the Bank’s other products and services, referring customers to appropriate staff as appropriate.

Client Relationships

  • Maintain solid client relationships, including onsite visits, monitoring trends within the market, loan reviews, collateral inspections, collections and loan workouts.
  • Monitor and clear technical exceptions.
  • Perform pre-qualification assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk of financing requests within framework of Bank credit culture and current economic and industry trends.
  • Gather and analyze all information (with assistance from a credit analyst) necessary to present a financing request to Credit/Loan Committee for approval;
  • Negotiate loan terms and conditions.
  • Coordinate processing of approved loans; ensure loans are processed according to agreement, customer needs and conform to Bank lending policies.
  • Solve problems related to processing and servicing of loans within portfolio.
  • Ensure that credit inquiries and UCC filings are researched to determine credit worthiness and appropriate collateral positioning are achieved.
  • Ensure that certification or deletion of collateral is made by the appropriate personnel.
  • Manages assigned loan portfolio through the monitoring of payment delinquencies, collection of applicable financial reporting, and review of loan covenant compliance.
  • Negotiate, underwrite and process renewals of credit facilities.
  • Approve loan payments, draws from lines of credit, and fund transfers within specified limits.
  • Prepare commitment, engagement, auction and decline letters.
  • Provide superior customer service through appropriate follow through with involved customers and employees.
  • Consistently apply good decision-making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals, and requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures, keeping within assigned approval limits and using these instances as learning tools for employee development.
  • Reviews NSF and overdraft reports for customers assigned within his or her portfolio; approves or declines such exceptions within established lending limits.
  • Provides deposit and loan account ratings.

Other

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of financial industry, economy, market conditions, rates, vendors and competition.
  • Update and correspond with legal counsel and collectors on new loan requests as appropriate, workouts, bankruptcies, and charge-offs to ensure all appropriate actions or measures are taken.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced loan officers and other staff members, as requested.
  • Assist Banking Associates during daily core business hours with operational duties including vault transactions, ATM balancing, and cashier’s check approvals
  • Assist with Bank opening and closing procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service to walk-in clients and prospects
  • Provide in-person Bank dual control coverage in coordination with other Loan Officers
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Advanced business marketing and business development skills
  • Strong knowledge in financial statement and tax return analysis
  • Advanced knowledge in all lending activities and terminology
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial, construction, real estate and consumer loan processing
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures
  • Strong knowledge of related state and federal lending and compliance regulations, and other bank lending policies
  • Skills in MS Word and Excel and ability to access core processor customer information
  • Strong math skills; calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
  • Basic knowledge of branch operation procedures and bank products/services
  • Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple variables in non-standardized situations
