Commodity Analyst

Job Purpose:

Effectively manages all aspects of the Supply Chain function for the Indirect Supply base. Including but not limited to: Operational & Plant Consumable commodities (Solder, Chemicals, Gases, Adhesives, Solvents, Safety Supplies, ESD Products, Uniforms, Calibration, Test Fixtures, Tooling and Hand tools, and Production Tapes and Labels), Office Supplies, IT (Software and Hardware), Facilities (Security, Landscaping, Janitorial, Construction, Waste Management), and Professional Services for all divisions. This position requires a good working knowledge and understanding of above mentioned Indirect Commodities, procurement and sourcing processes and ability to report into Director, Global Supply Chain. Must be able to develop sourcing strategy for the consumable material or supplies to drive and leverage negotiations to develop global pricing agreements that can impact several hundred million dollars with many active indirect suppliers. This position will be a highly visible in the organization and will require interaction with senior management, plant engineers, regional and corporate purchasing organizations and supply chain related teams. Coordinate global purchasing negotiations, corporate purchasing agreements and needed activities to procure equipment, MRO consumables and supplies in cost effective and timely manner. Has some basic understanding of plant operations.

Nature of Duties:

This position will focus on Plant Consumable and similar Indirect (MRO) related commodities that will require a working knowledge of suppliers, technology, and market conditions for these materials. The individual will be required to generate RFQ, RFPs and supplier selections.

This member of a Global Supplier Management team will be responsible for:

• Managing all Indirect Commodities, and MRO related purchases that worth several hundred million dollars.
• Achieving on-going cost reductions and implementing global negotiated programs
• Developing and managing a global preferred supplier list for use by all regions and sites to leverage business, drive cost reduction, improve terms and conditions and maximize company operating profit.
• Identifying, evaluating, and qualifying alternate suppliers.
• Improving supplier quality and continuous improvement of supplier performance measurements.
• Interacting with local and regional Plant and Supplier Management teams to achieve needs of the business.
• Working with cross functional teams of commodity managers, purchasing and data analyst teams.

Education and Experience:

• BA/BS degree from an accredited college preferably related to supply chain management.
• Desired five or more years experience related to plant operations and Indirect related commodites.
• Experience in working with cross functional teams.
• Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple activities.
• Proven cost reduction and asset management skills.
• Effective contract negotiator.
• Proficient using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Effective communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in global sourcing with particular focus on Plant Consummable Items.
• Must be willing and able to travel as necessary (Domestic and International)
• Self confident, self motivated, results oriented, and driven by success.
