We are seeking competent, compassionate, and career-oriented therapists to serve as a Community Outreach Coordinator.

Job Purpose:

Our next Community Outreach Coordinator will assist Wellpoint staff and community partners to provide community based mental health support to youth and families through outreach, needs assessment, resource development and referral support to help youth and families access mental health treatment.

Duties:

  • Identifies and develops community partnerships based on the ongoing needs of families served by Wellpoint.
  • Seeks out new community partnerships based on the identified needs of children and families in the surrounding neighborhoods.
  • Participates in community outreach activities to educate the broader community about Wellpoint programs.
  • Engages members of the community through outreach activities and provide awareness on mental health to reduce stigma in the community.
  • Builds and maintains internal partnerships with Wellpoint program personnel through regular contact with direct service staff and leadership, and by attending and presenting at various internal staff meetings.
  • Advocates for the needs and interests of families who are receiving services through Wellpoint.
  • Demonstrates an ability to maintain productive and respectful relationships with all team members and community partner agency staff.
  • Performs initial PRAPARE screen and ongoing needs assessment with individual youth and families enrolled in BGCGM.
  • Supports staff and Clients in identifying potential solutions and community partners that may help strengthen family functioning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related degree required.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ work experience in social service setting with a preference for work with community agencies required.
  • Experience in relationship building with both internal and external partners required.
  • Understanding of and experience in working with diverse communities and families.
  • Demonstrate an ability to effective understanding and practice of cultural humility and ability work and communicate respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficient in the usage of computer software; demonstrate an understanding of computer file systems and computer software packages, e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Teams, ADP, etc.
  • Ability to take initiative and act quickly and independently when the situation demands it; sees a need and takes appropriate action without being prompted or reminded; demonstrates ability to effectively deal with crisis situations.
  • Ability to exhibit professionalism while working effectively and harmoniously with staff, program participants, social service agencies, legal parties, and the public.
  • Physical exam, drug screen, motor vehicle report, and background checks are required for this position.
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license [and reliable transportation] required.

Position Details & Extras:

  • Full-Time
  • Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) - Wellpoint (formerly SaintA) employees may be eligible for loan forgiveness under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.
  • Regular travel in personal vehicles is required with the ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Willingness to work beyond normal working hours: evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Involved with students, personnel, family members, visitors, volunteers, interns, government agencies, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
  • Subject to dysregulated clients, students, family members, etc.
