Zachry Group has an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Manager to make a huge impact in the Zachry organization. The Compliance Manager is responsible for helping the enterprise make strategic decisions in the supply chain process, as well as ensuring compliance with US/international laws, regulations and other ethical standards such as anti-bribery and corruption laws, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). Developing policies and procedures around compliance, and training personnel. Reviews and reports to Senior Management on current Tariffs, Quotas, Customs Duties, and Tax. Coordinates closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Material Management, and Logistics. Leads task teams focused on project strategy and plans. Reviews Project Logistics Plans and strategies on shipping across Multiple Billion-dollar Industrial EPC projects.

Position will be based in San Antonio or Houston, TX.

What you’ll do as a Compliance Manager:

  • Supports the strategic development, delivery, and execution of a standardized compliance program to support the enterprise for the functional area of responsibility in coordination with the Legal and Procurement Departments and with investigations, audits, or disclosures regarding the company's compliance activities.
  • Research trade regulations and rulings, determine regulatory or interpretive basis for each classification and communicates with internal clients and external service providers.
  • Identification of areas for process improvement in the daily resolution of trade compliance related international transaction holds and issues.
  • Support the trade compliance related recordkeeping program and reconciliation, organization, and maintenance on a regular basis for the appropriate functional area of responsibility as needed.
  • Meet with Customs and Border Protection on a regular basis; establish relationship and obtain feedback regarding Company’s standing with local Customs Authorities and communicate with Customs and Other Government Agencies regarding compliance issues as needed.
  • Develop, revise, and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company business practices and applicable laws and regulations
  • Support corporate strategy based on current or future tax implications
  • Review project strategy and plans
  • Interfacing with clients, partners, and internal departments and reporting to Senior Management on compliance and customs matters as needed.
  • Interface with Corporate Compliance, Strategy, and Risk for Enterprise
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Full and ongoing compliance with and adherence to all vaccination requirements, as may be established by the company from time to time or by or for a particular job site



Job Requirements:


What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 or more years of related experience
  • Technical acumen
  • Strong computer skills and demonstrated ability with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Ability to travel Domestically (15%
  • Interfacing with multiple departments within the enterprise, partners, and clients will be required

What is an added plus?

  • Master’s Degree
  • Knowledge of EPC & LNG equipment is desired but not required
  • Transportation related experience preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension. May be required to lift, carry and move objects safely. Must possess a vision (corrected or uncorrected) that allows for clear visibility from a distance of 20 inches or less.

WORK ENVIRONMENT


Work will be in a conservative corporate office environment operating and functioning at a fast pace. Working out of cubicles near other various colleagues who are also in cubes. Some may refer to these workspaces as cube farms. Our corporate campus includes an on-site café with various daily breakfast, lunch and snack-time selections, a sizeable fitness center equipped with various state of the artwork out equipment & weights, outdoor walking/jogging-path, herb garden, basketball half-court, sand-volleyball court, soccer field, as well as a clinic with a certified nurse practitioner. Office noise will be low and generally consist of cube neighbors’ phone-calls, conversations and/or laughter. You can expect people to treat you with friendliness and respect throughout the Zachry campus.
