Computer Hardware Technician

Job Description

At Excess I.T Hardware we recycle office computers and electronics.

We are looking for a person who has a passion for computers and electronics, who knows about or wants to learn about computer hardware. Primary job duties are listed below, but the candidate will also assist with warehouse hardware sorting.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work with all forms of IT Hardware - PC, Laptops, Servers, Printers, etc
• Remove or replace parts
• Test computers / Items according to our company guidelines
• Enter information into company Inventory Form following form guidelines
• Erase hard drives using a GUI software
• Clean computers (dust out insides, wipe down cases and keyboards, etc).
• Follow all safety rules
• Use proper equipment when disassembling and cleaning computers
• Use proper tools to prevent damage to sensitive electronics
• Assist in warehouse as needed (able to lift 50 lbs).

Minimum Requirements:

• Passion for computers and technology
• Reliable transportation
• Desire to learn about our business and what we do
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Willing to submit to, and pass, a background check

Preferred Qualifications:

• A+ Certification
• 1+ Previous experience configuring or fixing computer hardware
• High-school diploma or GED

Position: Full-time position available based upon performance, experience and background check.

Salary is $18.50 per hour. Bonus program as well
