The Concert Hall Assistant is responsible for coordinating and assisting with programs and rental events in Tateuchi Hall.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Prepare concert hall, lobby area, and/or rental area prior to, during and after the performance, rehearsals and/or a rental period.
  • Prepare concert hall and green room per artist and client contract requests.
  • Open and close the hall and assist audience members entering and exiting the hall.
  • Communicate and work closely with the Concert Hall Manager, Facilities Manager and Artists as appropriate in fulfilling production needs and monitoring the security, cleanliness, and maintenance of the facility.
  • Be responsible for the correct set-up needed for an event by setting up all the proper equipment, such as microphones, video recorders, or broadcasting tools as well as lighting. Help troubleshoot and repair problems that occur during the event.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as needed and assigned by Concert Hall Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience working in a theater, music, performing arts or audio-tech preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of theater and events staging procedures, sound and lighting equipment, audio-tech and facility operations.
  • Must have working knowledge of A/V systems and concert hall equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work well with people and collaborate under pressure and troubleshoot.
  • Evening and weekend work is required; flexible schedule is a plus.
  • Reliable, flexible, punctual, solid team player.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able to stand/walk for 100% of the work day.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. independently.
  • Must be able to push and pull pianos weighing up to 50 lbs. independently.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach and balance frequently throughout the work day.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
