Job Summary/Basic Function
The School of Concrete and Construction Management at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a one-year, clinical-track faculty position (#179030) at the assistant or associate professor rank. The start date for the position is January 1, 2023. The position is contingent upon funding.
The School of Concrete and Construction Management emphasizes concrete industry and construction management, with degree programs in Concrete Production, Sales and Service, Concrete Contracting, Commercial Construction Management, and Land Development/Residential Construction Management. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses primarily for the Concrete Industry Management programs in the following areas: Plan Reading; Fundamentals of Concrete Testing; Concrete Construction Applications; Concrete Design and Construction Issues; and Field Management and Supervision. The successful candidate is expected to teach each semester, participate in department committees, assist with student recruitment, develop curriculum, and participate in program assessment. Additional responsibilities for this position include mentoring student organizations, clubs, and competition teams; and participating in CIM national and regional events.
Required Education
Master's degree in Construction Management, Concrete Industry Management MBA, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a construction-related field
Required Related Experience
Five years of relevant construction industry experience in North America
Required License/Registration/Certification
Current ACI certifications in Concrete Field Testing Technician I and Concrete Construction Special Inspector
Other Desirables
Applicants with three years of university teaching experience in the United States and those with the ability to deliver course content in both face-to-face and online instructional modes will receive special consideration.
