Job description
I. Position Function SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Technical Services Manager, the Construction Foreman oversees 10+ employees for daily operations in field construction of designing, installing, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting new and existing irrigation systems to assure safe and adequate operation of systems during irrigation season, conducts preventative maintenance during off-season.

General Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and guidance including scheduling maintenance/work activities, maintaining daily attendance records, personnel job performance appraisal, and complying with NAPI policies and procedures.
- Provides supervision, direction, and coordination of field activities
- Coordinates and recommends priorities of work activities in scheduling repairs and other assigned duties to complete in a timely manner.
- Monitor expenditure of supplies/equipment and cost of equipment repairs.
- Prepare reports as directed by department manager.
- Order procurement of tools, supplies, materials, machines to be delivered at specific time and according to work schedules.
- Assist in assembling, testing, installing of center pivot trenching, pipe installing, electrical line installation and maintenance to specification design by department manager and/or engineer.
- Makes sound management decisions, exhibits good organizational skills, and demonstrates ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Maintains effective working relationships with co-workers and customers.
- Conducts regular safety meetings stressing safety in the workplace, completing proper documentation of incidents, accidents, injury, and property damage.
Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises, coordinates and reviews all activities of NAPIs daily sales transactions, and other assigned scales processes.
- Leads, directs and supervisors reporting personnel including work procedures, workloads and work schedules by directing the workflow in such a manner as to promote productive efficiency of employees.
- Assists with managing performance of assigned direct reports and others in the work unit; conduct employee performance reviews for assigned staff, properly documents corrective action, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions, and salary adjustment sin accordance with NAPI policy.
- Ensures a safe working environment, and oversees compliance with applicable OSHA and other laws, regulations, and work rules concerning environmental safety and health by employees
- Supervises the work unit in keeping with applicable laws and regulations; and NAPIs policies, guidelines and Navajo affirmative action policies.
- Establishes and effective flow of communication and information to ensure that problems can be responsibly solved and that support is provided to the staff as needed.
- Communicates with other department about the progress of work orders, and projects.
