Global Business Consulting (GBC) is the consulting arm of American Express Global Business Travel. GBC brings the talent, tools and management consulting acumen needed to manage our client’s T&E spend and maximize their return on investment. GBC focuses on business and operational strategy, strategic sourcing and program optimization to help our clients manage their travel spend. Our specialized expertise includes Policy, Change Management & Compliance, Travel Program Management, Business Intelligence, Travel Category Management and Cost Management.
POSITION SUMMARY
This is an exciting entry level manager role; working closely with the Commercial Consulting Manager to help maximize the client’s travel management program. This position will work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, supporting a complex and progressive account.
This includes identifying opportunities to enhance the client’s travel program, programs, creating project plans to address the opportunities, develop the communication plan to key client stakeholders, and ultimately drive the implementation of the solutions. A successful candidate will be able to manage several project workstreams across the globe.
Primary area of focus will be related to the Program Optimization practice line, which spans Travel Policy, Traveler Behavior Analytics and Optimization, as well as Change Management strategy development and delivery.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with consulting, project management and travel/air industry experience. Up to 30% travel required.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Manage and execute engagements relating to all areas of consulting; primary focus on the Program Optimization practice, with growth opportunities into one or more of the following practices: Air, Hotel, Ground Transport

Ability to connect tactical and project requests to broader strategic objectives – maintaining a continuous pulse on how value and results are being created

Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate the value of the engagements to all levels of client stakeholder, adjusting messaging for various stakeholder levels (C-suite, Day-to-Day contact, etc.).

Owns client satisfaction ensuring a superior client experience

Owns the retention of existing clients and revenue, with future expectations of cross-selling/upselling Consulting solutions into existing and/or new Consulting customers

Maintain and/or increase (where applicable) profitability of clients

Ensure deliverables are high quality and meet client needs

Operate in a team-oriented environment with a strong sense of responsibility toward team members, engagement objectives and practice line development

Ability to drive collaboration with a global team of peers, stakeholders, and functional experts

Manage, develop, and mentor analysts on assigned project

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree. MBA a plus
-
3+ years of proven success in a traditional consulting and/or Program Optimization/Change Management program management role; Travel and/or Air experience is strongly preferred

Demonstrated ability to think conceptually, using strong analytical skills

Exceptional interpersonal skills, listening ability and written presentation skills.

Experience with Air category data or online booking tools a plus

Ability to deal with ambiguity and present/discuss work results in a compelling manner.

Communication and familiarity with change management expertise

Ability to create models and scenarios using all levels of travel data; Including experience in working with data management and visualization tools, such as but not limited to Alteryx, Tableau

Location
The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $70,000 to $140,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
