POSITION PURPOSE

Under the direction of the Director of Consumer Lending, provides operational and day-to-day direction to and management of Central Willamette’s consumer lending support team. Responsible for the efficient, effective and accurate performance of consumer lending support functions, including direct and indirect loan funding and servicing and title/security interest management. Serves as a member of the Leadership Team and contributes to the execution of the Credit Union’s consumer lending strategy Maintains and enhances key internal and external business relationships. Provides leadership, direction and training support to lending support team members. Ensures member needs are promptly and professionally served. Actively promotes the Credit Union’s products and services to members and prospective members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assumes responsibility for the efficient, effective and accurate performance of consumer lending operations, including direct and indirect loan origination and servicing and all title/security interest matters.
  • Perform the duties of any subordinate role as needs arise.
  • Collaborates with management to complete dealer due diligence, assess dealer cost benefit analysis, and indirect risk management.
  • Remains knowledgeable of lending operations services and assists members as needed.
  • Represent and promote the Credit Union as appropriate and build relationships with members, sponsor organizations, suppliers, other financial institutions and similar groups.
  • Develop and maintain community relationships as needed/necessary, including Dealer/Merchant Relations, for the Credit Union to be viewed as a responsible member of the community, and participate in other, similar activities to further the values and viability of the Credit Union movement.
  • Ensures that lending operational plans, policies and procedures are in accordance with laws, regulations, industry trends, and further Credit Union initiatives.
  • Assist in the development, recommendations, and implementation of consumer lending strategy to meet or exceed business and sales goals and to optimize performance results in all of the communities that the Credit Union serves.
  • Participate in the development of the short and long-term strategies and plans to support Credit Union growth objectives, profitability, financial performance objectives, stability, and business continuity
  • Develops functional area(s), resources and personnel to support Strategic Business Plan initiatives
  • Provides leadership and direction to lending support staff. Ensures staff are well trained and understand Credit Union policies/procedures and legal requirements. Monitors individual performance and effectiveness. Conducts performance reviews at least semi-annually. Implements corrective actions as needed.
  • Responsible for the engagement, development, training, discipline and retention of the lending support staff.
  • Maintains an in-depth, up-to-date knowledge on all credit union products and services.
  • Maintains an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all related policies and procedures, rules and regulations for all areas of lending operations.
  • Serve as liaison between lending team and external vendors and members to ensure processes are effective in the administration of each loan, and that loans are handled in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the development of and champion the service delivery strategy of the consumer lending support team, both to internal team members and external members.
  • Provide assistance with the resolution of member complaints and complex situations involving errors on loans, security interest issues or other difficult situations.
  • Performs all responsibilities in accordance with CW Values, compliance, regulatory and Information Protection requirements.
  • Attend training and comply with CWCU policies and procedures as well as applicable State and Federal regulations.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
