General Purpose of Job
The Content and Marketing Specialist position is primarily responsible for providing content creation assistance and support to the Corporate Communications and Energy Services Manager. The Content and Marketing Specialist position duties will include writing and creating dynamic content and editing for monthly SECO News articles, the SECO Energy website, letters to members, PowerPoint and Keynote presentations, news releases, brochures and other print items and SECO Energy’s social media channels. The position will collaborate with the Corporate Communications team to update the SECO Energy website, create content for and maintain email campaigns for internal and external audiences for SECO Energy and the SECO Energy Foundation, update and maintain social media channels to align with Corporate Communication goals and strategies, assist with other projects as needed as part of the Corporate Communications team. The Content and Marketing Specialist will have impeccable written and verbal communications skills with a keen eye for detail and be highly creative. The Content and Marketing Specialist will also create and assist with preparation of various reports for use at the executive level, i.e. monthly board report.

Education
Minimum

4 Year / Bachelors Degree

Major:

Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or similar.

Experience
Minimum

Three (3) years of experience in content creation, marketing, communications or related field.

Education and/or Experience Notes
An applicant may utilize either of the following options as a substitution to qualify:
  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing or Public Relations with five (5) years of work experience in Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field or,
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Public Relations with one (1) year of work experience in Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.

Other Requirements:
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
  • Normal work hours shall be eight (8) hours between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to work irregular hours for assignment completion and flexibility to change scheduling and report to work on short notice during emergency situations.
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including a personal computer, printers, copy machines, telephone, and fax machine.

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, sound reasoning skills and discretion in making independent decisions commensurate with responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and effectively manage stress and pressure in a frequently changing environment, ability to multi-task calmly and effectively in all situations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the operation of personal computers and computer operating systems; proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite and ability to acquire knowledge and use of applicable corporate computer systems.
  • Demonstrated listening, verbal and written communication skills; accurately prepare all types of office correspondence and design and produce reports for executive, Board and departmental use.
  • Detail-oriented individual with excellent planning and organizational skills and the ability to complete assignments, meet deadlines and work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service orientation and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with members, managers, employees, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and HTML.
  • English is the primary business language. Second language in Spanish is desirable.

 Collaborate with the Corporate Communications team to update the SECO Energy website using WordPress and HTML.


Develop and maintain social media channels.

 Create and assist with preparation of reports for use at the executive level, i.e. monthly board report.
  • Prepare weekly monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to Energy Services activities.
  • Produce and maintain departmental manuals and/or processes as needed.
  • Pull revenue reports annually.

Ability to frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 10 lbs. and lift and/or move objects weighing up to 49 lbs. on an occasional basis.
