WorkReadyNH Contract Instructor Job Description
Scope of Work:
Facilitate, present, instruct, and model the WorkReadyNH Soft Skills Competencies through content driven workshops, articles, discussions, role-plays, team building activities and engaging participants in a mock business simulation where participants take on the role of “employee”. The Soft Skills course consists of a minimum of sixty hours of soft skills training in a business workplace like setting. The Soft Skills curriculum addresses workplace competencies including; Interpersonal Skills & Teamwork, Integrity, Professional & Personal Acceptability, Initiative, Dependability & Reliability, Lifelong Learning, Communication and Critical & Analytical Thinking.
Accountabilities:
- Follow and present curriculum developed around WorkReadyNH Soft Skill Competencies; power points, videos, articles, roles-plays, and activities – approved by the WorkReadyNH Program Director
- Adapt presentation style and modify length of workshops to accommodate for each session and individual needs
- Assure that all participants of WorkReadyNH feel welcome, validated, and actively participate in all of the workshops, discussions, and activities
- Monitor all participants’ conduct, abiding by the WorkReadyNH Code of Conduct policies
- Demonstrate tolerance and support for individual differences and development of skills
- Track attendance and level of participation of each individual participant – ensure that participants make up any missed assignments
- Provide a role model for participants by demonstrating a professional attitude and maintaining appropriate behaviors in the workplace
- Adhere to the program schedule, dates and times, as set by the WorkReadyNH Director
- Comply with all system, college, state, and federal rules and regulations
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: Two (2) years of training, teaching, or workshop presentation in the field of human relations, management, leadership development, entrepreneurship, and/or group dynamics. Comparable experience in workshop facilitation or motivational leadership can be considered. Experience with curriculum development a plus.
Education: Minimum of Associate’s degree from a recognized college or university, preferred Bachelor’s degree with a major in human relations, business, leadership, or related field. Additional years of work experience can be substituted up to 2 years of education.
Recommended Work Traits: Ability to motivate and encourage group and individual participation in a workshop type of setting. Knowledge of team dynamics, problem solving, critical thinking, conflict resolution, professionalism, and today’s job market. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with college staff, participants, and the general public. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties (business professional/business casual). Stay current on the workplace needs, workplace soft skills, job seeking/job keeping skills, and group dynamics. Ability to utilize Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, familiar with general presentation technology or able to learn technology quickly. Familiar with and use online professional sites such as LinkedIn and lifelong learning resources.
