POSITION SUMMARY:

Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings by providing interpretation and translation services to those we serve. EEO.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Support refugee and immigration programs through interpretation including but not limited to intakes, case management meetings, employment services meetings, educational programs, benefits consultations, and social service appointments.
• Provide accurate, complete and impartial interpretation services for Limited English Proficiency (LEP) clients, family members and Catholic Charities staff.
• Translate relevant social service documents in relevant languages to improve refugee and immigrant integration outcomes.
• Abide by the Interpreter Code of Ethics by maintaining confidentiality and high-quality professional interpreter standards.

Complete and submit interpreter invoices on a monthly basis to supervisor

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Demonstrate a passion for the mission of Catholic Charities.
• Must be willing to perform by the agency’s values: love, patience, kindness, faithfulness, self- control and joy.
• Catholic Charities promotes a diverse workforce.
