We are looking for a talented person to cook and fill one vacant spot on our morning kitchen team. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall excellence of the Aloft Denver North Westminster. The menu is fairly small and easy to produce. We will provide training.

The Aloft Denver North Westminster is ranked (based on post stay guest surveys) in the top 10% of all Aloft Brand Hotels Worldwide.

Delivering great service and being friendly and helpful to guests and other employees is a requirement of the job and we make it fun to do.

Shifts are a mix of AM and PM.

Menu is fairly small and easy to produce. Most items are pre-made and only need to be heated.

The person we will hire is first and foremost a skilled and organized. We are looking for someone to work as a team player, follow instructions, and help us delight our customers with delicious food from our menu. In addition to cooking prowess, great communication and organizational skills are paramount.

A good candidate for this job is a person with attention to detail who can keep the kitchen tidy and clean all while preparing, cooking, and arranging food. We pride ourselves in our exceptional service, and we expect nothing less. The advantage goes to candidates with a diploma from a culinary school, but it is not required.

Requirements:

Education:

High School Diploma is required.

Experience:

1 year work experience with food is required.

Responsibilities:

• Take control of the breakfast service and ensure guests receive a truly delicious and memorable breakfast
• Cooking and managing breakfast service and restocking pantry using first-in, first-out principals.
• Setting up and cleaning down the kitchen after breakfast.
• Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic at all times.
• Ensure all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
• Ensure all mise-en-place is always freshly prepared and on time.
• Ensure all dishes are being prepared for the correct recipe and to the correct quantity.
• Ensure the department is operated within the appropriate legislation and the appropriate records are maintained up-to-date.
• Ensure all staff under your control are treated fairly and with courtesy.
• Ensuring and controlling levels of guest satisfaction, quality, operating, and food costs on an ongoing basis.
• Collect feedback from the guest during the breakfast session and report to the Manager of Duty of any complaints or issues.
• Monitor and Ensuring that the production, preparation, and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all times.
• Personal grooming and appearance standards are met regarding cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene.
• Assist with producing menus and new dishes.
• Ensure costings and budgets are achieved
• Adhere to Health & Safety policies and regulations.
• Have a good knowledge of health & safety, hygiene, equal opportunities, HACCP, and any other legislation.
• Able to handle pressure calmly and professionally.
• Attend training courses as and when required.
• Carry out any other duties as requested by management.
