Job description

The Cook III, Sr will be assigned to manage production and service for multiple areas within a large volume/high activity dining hall.

• Provides active leadership of culinary staff (full-time and student).
• Skillfully prepares a wide variety of recipes while positively and professionally interacting with customers.
• Ensures recipes are followed and quality product is served.
• Assists with recipe and menu development.
• Performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of the operations.
• Regularly works in department operations in day to day activities as needed.
• Monitors portion control and food waste.
• Assists with training of culinary staff.
• Properly handles food in accordance with FDA food codes.
• Directs staff in the cleaning of areas and equipment in accordance with the sanitarian’s recommendations.
• Directs the cleaning, disposition, and storage of foods, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensures that appropriate signage is displayed.
• Performs other general kitchen duties.
• And actively contributes to the team by performing other duties as needed in support of the department’s mission.

Expand your culinary skills with special trainings provided during break times on things like advanced knife skills to decorating cakes to leadership training.

• Full-time positions are 40 hours per week and are eligible for over-time and benefits including insurance, retirement, tuition waiver, holiday pay, and annual & sick leave.
• Part-time employees work up to 16 hours a week, enjoy flexibility in their schedule, and are eligible to receive holiday pay and annual & sick leave pay on a prorated basis.
