Lead Cook - At Unique Historic Homestead

A little about us- Chestnut Pines is a unique Homesteading Estate Located in the heart of Draper in a 120 year old victorian brick home. With a Cafe, Shoppe, Classes and Programs ranging from how to quit a sugar habit to sourdough, ancient grains as well as renewable gardening and landscaping. Founded in 2018 by mom and daughter, with the mission to help people create their own modern homestead in this urban world. By inspiring, educating and helping our community become not just consumers but producers and along the way live healthier and feel happier.

People travel from the surrounding areas to enjoy our unique breakfast and lunch menu which is made with 100% wild yeast sourdough and sprouted ancient grains such as the house favorite einkorn sourdough waffle or the famous kefir cinnamon syrup which tops our famous handmade french toast. Our lunch menu includes hamburgers made from our very own grass fed beef and seasonal salads from our garden.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities includes:

  • Under supervision of the Mangers organize the activities of the kitchen.
  • Create specials and work with Mangers to improve the menu.
  • Help oversee and direct the food preparation and other relative activities.
  • Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations which fit the company's mission.
  • Approve and "polish" dish arrangements before they reach customers.
  • Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages.
  • Arrange for repairs when necessary.
  • Train and help to oversee kitchen staff.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between coworkers.
  • Is dependable and proactive.
