Job description
JOB SUMMARY
Accurately and efficiently cook sandwiches, pizzas, appetizers, meats, vegetables, soups and other hot food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Setting up and closing down work station
- Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
- Stocks and maintains sufficient food products at line station to assure a smooth service period
- Responsible for keeping kitchen area clean, neat, and orderly
- Responsible for following Health Department standards and requirements
- Attends staff meetings
- Follows daily and weekly duties
- Maintains professionalism when not assisting customers.
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must be highly motivated
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organizational skills
- An understanding of food and beverage operations
- Must be a team player, willing to cover or trade shifts when necessary
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in a kitchen or food service industry is preferred.
- Culinary school is preferred, but not required.
