We're looking for:
Hotel Saint Cecilia is looking for a Sales and Events Coordinator who will excel in contacting potential customers to develop & generate business, respond to all leads in a timely manner, coordinate activities for bookings, and organize sales activities to maximize results. This position assists the Sales and Events teams to develop, implement, promote and follow through on actions and activities to increase business revenues. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can problem solve and enjoys the fast-paced hotel environment.
A Sales and Events Coordinator must have the ability to resolve conflict and a thorough understanding of Bunkhouse policies. Furthermore, a Sales and Events Coordinator must develop and maintain the company’s culture, values and reputation in the public eye, and with all staff, guests, vendors and partners.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED). College Degree preferred
- Two (2) years or more of experience in hospitality
- Familiarity with hotel systems such as PMS (Opera) and POS systems is highly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer service experience
- Maintains the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
- Resourceful problem-solving skills, self-motivated, driven and task oriented
- Organized with a proven track record of setting priorities and problem solving while utilizing good judgment and effective decision-making
- Computer knowledge Microsoft Office and office skills required
- Fluency in multiple languages preferred

Job Requirements:
- Respond to and qualify incoming sales & events leads in order to pass them on to respective Managers/Directors for quoting
- Perform administrative duties such as update data-bases & CRM, produce reports, resolve requests and/or complaints to the satisfaction of the guest, represent the Sales team by being the ‘point person’ with other departments.
- Prepare and distribute internal/external correspondence such as contracts, BEO’s, group resumes, rooming lists, event schedules, and other documents in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist with all matters relating to guest & client experience including; VIP services, assisting with sales calls, client outreach, meeting with group/event attendees, etc.
- Where necessary assist with the operation & servicing of Events and Groups including those occasionally out of traditional business hours.
- Execute all actions necessary and appropriate to achieve established sales department goals and overall business goals for the property.
- Serve as a leader in Bunkhouse “Guest Service” culture through personal actions, identifying areas for improvement.
- Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos and verbal instruction.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area.
- Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property.
- Keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements.
Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.
Working Conditions/Environment:
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, typical of a hotel/restaurant/office setting
- The person in this position may have to lift/carry up to fifty (50) pounds on a daily basis; anything over fifty (50) pounds is considered a minimum two (2) person lift
- The person having this position may have to remain stationary for one (1) hour, move about/traverse property spaces, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for up to eight (8) hours per day
