Position Summary
These services will include, but are not limited to: providing intense monitoring and academic support for at-risk student athletes, assisting with student-athlete specific course registration, assisting in the academic coaching of student-athletes for designated assigned sports programs, developing and overseeing programming/initiatives/events, and participating in recruiting visits with prospective student-athletes, and other duties as assigned.
The Coordinator will interpret, analyze, and monitor academic progress of student athletes; assess student-athlete overall academic performance and its impact on progress toward graduation and NCAA eligibility; maintain knowledge of all NCAA and University rules concerning academic standing and eligibility requirements.
In addition, the Coordinator will also be responsible for assisting the Associate AD for Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS) with the coordination of Student Development and implementation of the Spartan Shield Program. Coordinator will serve as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Advisor.
The candidate will possess a passion for the holistic development of student-athletes. The candidate must be detailed oriented, have excellent communication skills, and meet deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is required.
Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree is preferred. Previous experience in student-athlete development, counselor education, teaching, or athletic academic advising at the University level is preferred.
