Summary
The department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Barry University seeks a full time Coordinator of Sports Peformance
This position will develop and implement the sports performance program for Barry's 12 intercollegiate athletic teams which includes developing sport-specific conditioning programs, performance analysis/sport science data, injury prevention/ rehabilitation programs and nutrition. The Coordinator of Sports Performance will directly supervise the strength and conditioning facility and one graduate assistant, as well as oversee the daily operations of the facility (cleaning, equipment storage and replacement). This position will also be responsible for teaching proper and safe weightlifting techniques and motivating student-athletes to reach their potential. Additional responsibilities include coordinating rehabilitation with the Athletic Training staff, educating student-athletes and staff in the areas of sports performance, and maintaining compliance with NCAA, SSC, and Barry University rules and regulations.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and implement high-level strength and conditioning programs to meet the individual needs of Barry’s 12 athletic teams that are scientifically-based, involve periodized regimen of exercises and drills to enhance power, strength, agility, speed and flexibility to improve performance and decrease injury potential.
  • Supervise the strength and conditioning facility and one graduate assistant, as well as oversee the daily operations of the facility (cleaning, equipment storage and replacement).
  • Coordinate the scheduling of team workouts.
  • Ability to communicate and work in partnership with administration, coaching staff, and athletic training staff to provide an integrated program of injury prevention, rehabilitation, performance training and nutritional planning.
  • Maintaining compliance with NCAA, SSC, and Barry University rules and regulations while teaching proper and safe weight lifting techniques and motivating student-athletes to reach their potential.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must be CSCS - SCCC and First Aid/CPR/AED certified
  • Must possess strong communication skills
  • Basic computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
