Middleby Corporation has a great opportunity for a Corporate Audit Manager to join our Team!

The Corporate Audit Manager will be a key member of the audit team. This position will plan and execute various financial, compliance, and operational audits in accordance with accepted professional standards in order to determine compliance with company policies and procedures and adherence to applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, this position will have oversight for the IT audit function, which is outsourced to KPMG.

The Middleby audit team works closely with management at the various locations as a partner. Although our focus is on compliance and controls, we bring a unique perspective to the divisions since we are in the position to bring best practices from other divisions and share those with our Controllers and accounting teams to assist them in implementing recommended controls in an efficient way. Additionally, Middleby frequently acquires new companies and internal audit is a key player in assisting those divisions as they adopt our corporate guidelines.

Role Responsibilities:

• Travel to division locations to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, particularly those related to financial reporting.
• Perform specific audit procedures and prepare work papers documenting the audit procedures performed.
• Identify potential control deficiencies, develop methods to quantify the exposure, and assist in developing remediation plans.
• Supervise audit teams, review the work of junior team members, and provide mentoring.
• Manage the KPMG IT audit relationship, including analysis and remediation of identified deficiencies.
• Prepare written reports detailing the audit findings, including recommendations for remediation.
• Discuss findings with management and finalize the remediation plan.
• Execute Sarbanes-Oxley compliance testing and process documentation.
• Communicate with the external audit team to ensure smooth integration of the audit processes.
• Transfer IT audit controls within the Assurance team and provide timely updates on KPMGs progress.

Requirements:

• Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting.
• Minimum of six years of experience in audit with a combination of financial and IT controls experience.
• Experience with Sarbanes Oxley and internal control concepts.
• Ability and willingness to travel 30% of time including US and international travel.
• Experience with and strong understanding of US GAAP.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
