Job description
Colquitt Regional Medical Center is currently looking for Exceptional Licensed Nurses to care for our patients at the correctional facilities in Colquitt County. If your goal is to provide quality and compassionate healthcare, then we have a place for you on our team!
This off-campus department is setup like an urgent care clinic, with a secure work environment for hospital staff to provide care to inmates of the Colquitt County Jail and Prison. Nurses work together in a small, cohesive team to provide a variety of care needs to treat both chronic and acute conditions, under the direct supervision of the nurse practitioner.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice
- Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to NP and physician
- Collaborate with physician, NP, and pharmacists to devise individualized care plans for patients
- Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and document in the electronic record
- Administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to providers orders and according to scope of practice
- Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, etc.)
- Provide instant medical care in emergencies
Current GA LPN license or graduating from Nursing school and will sit for boards shortly.
Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross OR obtain Basic Life Support certification through Colquitt Regional Medical Center Educational Services upon hire.
ALCS and PALS required within the first year of employment.
