POSITION SUMMARY:
MPLX G&P is committed to managing and operating assets in a manner that protects the health and safety of employees, contractors, neighboring communities, customers, partners, and the environment. MPLX G&P currently has a vacancy for a highly motivated individual to fill a Corrosion Specialist position in either the Denver, CO or Canonsburg, PA office. The Corrosion Specialist position is part of the Pipeline Integrity Team and is responsible for ensuring the collection, maintenance, and analysis of the corrosion data for pipelines and facilities operated by MPLX G&P and its business partners. In this position, the Corrosion Specialist will optimize the scheduling and productivity of the corrosion technicians along with completing database updates and reporting within the corrosion database: Pipeline Compliance System (PCS). The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of computer systems, corrosion database (PCS), and cathodic protection.
This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. The actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure all corrosion surveys are complete and accurate in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Ensure survey schedule for corrosion technician is optimized in an efficient and cost-effective manner and develop metrics for reporting.
  • Corrosion database (PCS) management and housekeeping, rectifier and bond bi-monthly PCS bridging, PCS data upload from external sources.
  • PCS and Field Data Collector training and troubleshooting.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPI) development, reporting, and data processing.
  • Develop and analyze useful corrosion data metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of corrosion data by developing and implementing change management and quality assurance strategies.
  • Generate operations work lists from maintenance items entered by corrosion technicians
  • Generate and process purchase orders for the corrosion team.
  • Data reporting for regulatory audits and other business groups within MPLX G&P.
  • Develop a strong, technical understanding of cathodic protection and regulations through continuing education and industry certifications.
  • Assist with corrosion review, onboarding, and data integration for completed projects and asset acquisitions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Significant experience working in MS Office, specifically Excel
PREFERRED:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ years of relevant experience including Cathodic Protection or Pipeline Integrity
  • Significant experience working in Pipeline Compliance System (PCS)
  • Working knowledge of Teamview (SharePoint) functionality.
  • Experience using reporting tools such as Power BI or equivalent.
