We are looking for a Cost Accountant at our Stokesdale, NC plant. The incumbent has the responsibility of ensuring established financial policies and procedures are being followed at the manufacturing facility. This position functions as a partner with the operations management team in understanding the drivers of variances and working on solutions to improve financial performance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze monthly financial reports for the plant to ensure the accuracy and integrity of QAD financial reporting
• Provide explanations of monthly variances (actual vs budget and/or actual vs standard) for the manufacturing location
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for the monthly close
• Ensure that cycle and physical inventory counts are performed per company policy
• Distribute monthly inventory reports
• Analyze approved changes made to Bill of Materials and update standard costs for those changes
• Update the annual standard costs of the manufacturing location by determining labor rates, burden rates, overhead rates, and material costs
• Maintain the current cost set in the ERP system
• Create/maintain the cost model
• Work with product development to estimate costs for new products and/or quotes as needed
• Assist in the development of the annual budget for assigned sites
• Assist in the monthly forecasting activities to ensure current trends in the manufacturing site are being captured
• Assist the Director of Operations finance in the creation of reports that enable the operations team to understand the financial health of the manufacturing location

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2-3 years’ experience in Cost Accounting
• Strong knowledge of standard costing
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, Outlook) and SharePoint
• Experience with ERP systems
