Seeking licensed mental health therapist and counseling professional for permanent or contract position. ‘

Ideal candidates are experienced in areas such as adult, adolescent and youth counseling, marriage and family therapy, grief and loss counseling, anxiety and stress management, addictions counseling, and other sub fields.

Experience in counseling for a wide variety of individuals from various backgrounds is a plus. In-person, remote, and blended work options are possible.

A day in the life of a primary therapist at Better Self Counseling:

• Establishes positive, trusting rapport with clients
• Diagnoses and treats mental health disorders with the utmost compassion, integrity, and commitment to excellence
• Creates and updates individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances
• Conducts individual and family therapy
• Creates individualized therapeutic and experiential opportunities for client
• Conducts ongoing assessments of patient progress and coordinates and arranges for services needed on a patient-by-patient basis
• Maintains thorough records of patient meetings and progress
• Follows all safety protocols and maintains client confidentiality
• Communicates regularly with outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care

Experience and qualifications:

• Must be a fully-licensed counselor, therapist or social worker (LCSW, LMFT, LCSW, LPC, LMHC, PsyD., etc.) that is able to practice independently in Texas.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience treating patients.
• Must be empathic, genuine, self-aware and competent.
• Must take initiative, demonstrate sound judgment and demonstrate strong interpersonal and time management skills.
• Experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), experiential therapies, family therapy, mindfulness and/or other modalities is desirable.
• Responsiveness over email and phone, punctuality, and professionalism
• Proficiency in using a computer and willingness to provide care via telehealth
• Understanding of and sensitivity towards issues of diversity including, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, gender expression, weight, and size.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $85.00 per hour
