JOB SUMMARY
MAJOR FUNCTIONS
To maintain all GTW cranes under a controlled budget. Communicating preventative maintenance schedules within the maintenance and operations teams. Direct supervision of shop employees. Ability to diagnose root cause of mechanical/electrical issues and schedule downed equipment with terminal shop employees and outside contractors/vendors for corrective maintenance. Ensure that all employees follow Safe working practices and OSHA regulations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs management of ship-to-shore cranes, Mobile harbour crane, Electric Rubber tire and diesel-powered gantry cranes.
- Direct supervision of crane maintenance.
- Performs preventative maintenance/corrective maintenance processes on all POW crane and related equipment to include grabs, spreaders, and hopper etc.
- Coordinates and prepare cranes for annual OSHA certification.
- Coordinates repairs and PM schedules with the Operations team
- Works within a controlled budget.
- Diagnose root cause of crane issues and present prudent path forward.
- Coordination with OEMs and 3rdparty contractors for repairs and major modifications.
- Manages spare parts inventory and ordering (following PO procedures).
- Maintains a daily service level agreement distribution list on fleet equipment.
- Provide periodic reports on equipment operation and maintenance performed to Director of Engineering
- Maintains a daily inspection log and downtime report of all equipment.
- Prepares monthly Report on crane reliability.
- Assists with engineering and maintenance of Facilities and other Shops
- Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Educational Background
B.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Preferred
Technical Qualification / Certification
ET Certifications preferred, Diesel Engine Certifications a plus.
Related Work Experience
5-10 years industry related experience, able to obtain TWIC
