ACCEL Schools is seeking highly-qualified Career Technical Education Coordinator in Columbus, OH dedicated to providing a superior education for all students in our upcoming school year! Responsibilities:

  • Relentlessly work to meet all goals related to student achievement and culture as well as Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) goals.
  • Oversee curriculum alignment of Career-Technical Education and Career-based intervention courses.
  • Oversee differentiation of instruction and career plans to meet the needs of all students.
  • Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices into daily activities and interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms, inside the classroom and beyond.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding the academic and social-emotional growth of their child.
  • Advise teaching staff on how to incorporate 21st century technology skills and career-based interventions into daily classroom practice and team settings.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively, humbly, and respectfully with all colleagues.
  • Coordinate Career-Technical Exams and Capstone projects
  • Advising students and parents on career opportunities
  • Arranging dual/concurrent enrollment and Advanced Placement credits to prepare students for the rigour of postsecondary education.
  • Planning and preparation for extracurricular job experiences.
  • Informing students about postsecondary financing that can be used to support advanced education and training.
  • Developing career portfolios, which include test and grades results, examples of student work, and resumes and cover letters to prospective employers.
  • Arranging job shadowing, work placements, and community-based learning programs to allow students to directly experience workplace situations.
  • Sponsoring workshops, classes, focus groups, and special presentations that focus on job skills and personal development.
  • Providing opportunities and support surrounding student membership in Skills USA and other student organizations.
  • Organize Business Advisory Council at the school level
  • Participate in ongoing professional development in order to continue to address CTE/CBI needs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree Required, Masters Degree Preferred
  • Current state teaching license in appropriate content area with Career-Based Interventions endorsement or willingness and ability to obtain endorsement.
  • Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards, particularly in Career-Technical Education
  • Preferred two years' experience teaching
  • High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
  • High quality written and verbal communication skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook
  • Ability to make community connections and participate in community outreach
  • Ability to properly manage confidential information
  • Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time
  • Ability to supervise students in all school settings, including in a classroom, on playground or in another play setting, in a meal room, on a work-site, and/or transitioning between any of these settings
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred
