Job description
- Help us develop delicious recipes using our products in a variety of different cuisines and contexts.
- Work with innovative products and provide feedback on the product experience, taste, and texture of the products.
- Spearhead menu development, shopping, prepping, cooking, and takedown for all content efforts including for video and photo shoots.
- For all content, in house and out of house, help to food style and present food in a way that creates a delicious and beautiful experience for guests and for the camera.
- Work various events and tours in our office and deli or travelling and assist as a culinary expert and product expert as well.
- Work on menu development, costing and assisting with developing product for our key partners.
- Make a lot of sandwiches, charcuterie boards, and everything using deli and charcuterie meats!
- Help host pop-ups and events end to end, including operations and culinary.
- Organize culinary operations and execute for any trade shows or events we attend.
Requirements:
- Must have worked in the food industry, ideally in a restaurant, menu development.
- Be able to communicate and document recipes and work via clear written communication and quantitative means.
- Have a B.A in Culinary Arts, Food Science, Hospitality, or similar or have at least 10 years experience in restaurants or menu development.
- Have experience in food styling and menu item development including costing.
- Must be able to stand and lift at least 50 pounds and end to end shop, prep, cook, and clean up.
- Experienced with or knowledge of plant based foods and swaps - all our recipes aim to be all plant based without any sacrifice.
- Be outgoing as you’ll be interfacing with members of the public and occasionally media.
- Be resourceful and able to navigate working independently and with creativity.
Pay:
- $30-50/hr depending on experience, note: this is not a full time or part time job, this is a contract role on a project basis. Travel may be required and hours may fluctuate with business needs. We would prefer folks who have at least 20hrs + availability in the initial few months of engagement.
