Job Summary:

Data Solutions Engineer will be responsible for the data integrity, security, governance, monitoring and management of the developed datasets used in BI reporting across the organization. Working closely with Application SME’s and project stakeholders, you will be required to develop data connectors to internal and external SaaS applications to collect key field information and produce datasets for different BI reporting requirements. You will develop a strong understanding of our global developed platforms and assist with dataset change requests used for business reporting. You will be a subject matter expert in Microsoft PowerBi both in the creation and securing of datasets, through to report development and user management.

Duties and Responsibilities of the job:

• Develop a technical understanding of our 3rd party SaaS application data fields and data flows
• Build and maintain reliable, efficient and consumable data solutions
• Monitor and manage data connectors to improve data quality. Identify and resolve discrepancies to prevent inaccurate reporting.
• Work with our DBA’s develop knowledge of the platform database structure, query creation and improve the quality of data without compromising security.
• Build and maintain data flow maps of how applications connect, primary fields used, asses risks where these change, and impact to downstream reports.
• Investigate and build process automation scripts to analyze source data to make actionable changes to downstream applications
• Assist with the development of PowerBi reports, user security to access reports and access to the underlying data.
• Administer PowerBi datasets and monitor the use of Reports being created, investigating stale or incorrectly created reports.
• Build automation solutions using tools like Power Automate to reduce manual effort and improve data migrations
• Assist in Data projects, performing testing, investigation, troubleshooting and end user support
• Seek out new ways to improve how data is used in the company by working closely with those who are using the applications.

Education:

• Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, CIS, or equivalent experience preferred
• A combination of experience and education may be considered

Experience and Training:

• 3+ years working in a similar role
• Understanding of relational databases and how they operate
• Experience in building SQL queries
• Strong data analytics knowledge and working with large datasets
• Working knowledge of PowerBi, or other BI tools, including report building and dataset creation
• Basic understand of SalesForce, Netsuite, OpenAir and creation of reports, workflows
• Use of middleware tools (iPaaS) to integrate different data sources like Boomi, Celigo, Azure Automation
• Analytical and problem solving mindset.

Technical Knowledge:

• MS Office 365 with focus on Excel, PowerBi, Power Automate
• MS SQL Server query builder

• This position must be comfortable interacting with all staff levels in each company location, inclusive of management and senior management
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in a collaborative environment.
