Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience:
2 years data analysis including querying, scripting and information systems administration experience required.
Oracle PL/SQL development experience, financial analysis reporting, data warehousing and OLAP experience preferred.
  • Skills:
Must be able to communicate effectively and consistently with different organizational levels and be able to manage multiple concurrent projects. Must be able to work independently and in a team, to adapt easily in a dynamic environment, and to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively. Demonstrate expertise in analyzing, formatting, and reporting information from different sources and database systems including the data warehouse. Serve as a key support role in the design, execution and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative analysis of NorthShore data. Ability to provide rotating on-call coverage during month-end close.

What you will do:

  • Administration Decision Support System
    • Create, update and maintain applications, databases and objects in all environments.
    • Create, update, and monitor/run ETL (extract - transform -load) processes from various source systems to update applications and load data.
    • Perform Data Validation and Quality Assurance to ensure data consistency with the various source systems.
    • Monitor server and applications status, current running processes and server utilization to prevent or correct performance issues and maintain system availability to all users.
    • Perform system, database or data recoveries in the event of process failure or data inconsistency.
    • Create and Provision Security for user/group access to related systems.
    • Identify and correct/prevent system anomalies, degradation and other issues by regularly analyzing system performance and utilization.
    • Create and maintain the generation of user created financial reports distributed among various levels of management for NorthShore departments.
    • Assist H.I.T with server upgrades and installations, client installations and deployment, scripting and automation, and testing of all servers and applications related to the supported environment(s).
    • Provide rotating on-call coverage during month-end close
    • Research and recommend system, process and performance improvements based on best-in-class/industry standard solutions.
  • Provide 1st level support to Finance users for decision-support systems
    • Address and resolve Finance systems issues when possible.
    • Escalate to appropriate resource (Project Manager, Health Information Technology) present to and follow-up on issues that cannot be resolved independently.
    • Assist users with Access databases.
    • Identify processes that may benefit from automation or streamlining or that lack data integrity and make improvement recommendations.
  • Provide support to Financial Planning and Reporting for Finance reporting tools
    • Provide support to users for report development needs.
    • Understand and support Workspace and work with users for report automation.
    • Monitor and maintain security access groups.
    • Identify reports that may benefit from the use of Financial Reporting.

  • Assist and Provide Support for Lawson/WorkDay System
    • Assist with system upgrades, server migrations, process testing, etc.
    • Provide support to Finance and Accounting with reports, tools, programs that use LAWSON/Workday Tables.
    • Participate in development projects as necessary.

  • Assist and Support A/R Reserves and Contractual Programs
    • Assist in creation/updating and testing of PL/SQL programs that run in the Enterprise Data Warehouse to calculate A/R Reserves and Contractual percentages based on financial models created by senior management in Finance.
    • Assist and provide support in creation of reports based out of Reserves and Contractual Program distributed among senior management.
    • Create adhoc SQL queries as necessary to perform Quality Assurance checks to validate data generated by A/R Reserves and Contractual Programs from the Enterprise Data Warehouse.

  • Assist with User Training and Documentation
    • Develop and create training programs for users, power users and administrators for-related applications, Financial Reporting Tools, and/or other Business Intelligence tools available and supported by Decision Support.
    • Conduct regular training classes and/or one-on-one class to users for related applications.
    • Provide documentation on all processes, ETL, programs, scripts and automations used for related applications.
    • Update documentation and information found in Pulse/Collaboration Portal related to Finance & Financial Reporting.

  • Assist Project Manager with Process and System Improvement for Finance Reporting Tools
    • Assist with analyzing other Financial System practices and developing new implementations or designs based on new or emerging technologies.
    • Assist with researching new and emerging technologies in the field of Data Warehousing, Data Integration, Financial Analysis and Reporting, OLAP and other related technologies.

  • Participate in Decision Support special projects as necessary
    • Assist Information Systems with user installations, system upgrades, server migrations, process testing, etc.
    • Participate in development projects as necessary.
