General Responsibilities:
Assists the dentist in every dental procedure and performs some expanded duties.
Required Qualifications:
- 1 year experience as a dental assistant preferred
- Ability to handle confidential material
- Tactful in dealing with patients
- BLS Certification
- X-ray certification (or completion within 6 months of hire)
- Dentists: Daily
- Vendors: As Needed
- Patients: Daily
- Dentists: Daily
This position requires the use of fingers and hand manipulation using instruments and dental equipment. On feet most of the day.
Work Schedule Demands:
As determined with department hiring needs.
Must be available for overtime, including nights and weekends, when necessary.
Communication Skills:
This position requires the ability to verbally communicate with patients.
Confidentiality of Information:
This position allows full access to all dental and medical charts. Must always maintain all charts confidentiality.
Significant Job Functions: Clinical:
- Sterilization of dental instruments
- Setting up for every dental procedure
- Exposing and developing x-ray films
- Taking alginate impressions
- Pouring models
- Ability to take clear x-ray films
- Documentation of vitals, chief complaints
- Documentation of chart notes
- Documentation of treatment planning
- Starts at 18.25 per hour and there is a $500 sign on bonus after 90 days employment
