POSITION SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Director of Programs (DOP)he Deputy Director of Programs (DD) will focus on processes, policies, and professional development of staff in programs to drive business goals. This position will have a strong focus and responsibility ensuring the proper strategies are developed executed so that all current programs may meet outcomes within expected budgets and timelines. The DD will serve as the “right arm” to the DOP, so that the DOP can ensure all programs are meeting contractual obligations. The DD will assist with the direct management and supervision of subordinate staff such as Coordinators and Specialists, program development, implementation, and oversight, monitoring program budget, partnership-building, marketing and public relations, and evaluating program effectiveness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KEY ACCOUNTABILITES
SERVICE DELIVERY & PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION DUTIES:
Ensure the quality of data entry and management in Salesforce for all Programs, in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Department.
Focus on consistent standard operating procedures, developing them when necessary.
Assist in the development effective communication and outreach strategies in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Department and Program Coordinators.
Assist the DOP with strategic direction and oversight and use appropriate and evolving methodologies to drive program initiatives. Assist in the planning, direction, and execution of all program initiatives to ensure that the goals of the program are met.
Assist in the budgetary management of all programs.
PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT DUTIES:
Coordinate, and develop when necessary, professional development opportunities all program staff.
Coach staff to work with a high degree of accountability, performance, self-care, and teamwork consistent with best practices in non-profit environments.
Demonstrate and hold staff accountable for fostering a positive team culture by fostering professional, authentic communication, empowerment, and ensuring clear processes and measurements.
PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION DUTIES:
Serve as primary director of the new Financial Empowerment Centers and Summer Internship Programs; effectively working with the City of Houston as necessary.
Implement project plans with teams based on the strategic direction provided by the DOP and use appropriate and evolving methodologies to drive program initiatives. Plan, direct, and ensure execution of all program initiates to ensure that the goals of each contract are met.
Implement change management strategies to ensure successful execution of contract specifications; create strategies for day-to-day implementation which includes a seamless client flow.
Assist in the management of all assigned contracts within documented timeframes and within budget.
PROCESS DEVELOPMENT DUTIES:
Effectively utilize the Client Relationship Management System (Salesforce) to identify gaps and ensure compliance across all programs, providing ongoing guidance and strategies to frontline staff for accuracy and efficiency.
Effectively and proactively use technol to advance program and subject area initiatives and also assist and train other parties as needed for optimal use of technology.
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
LEADERSHIP DUTIES:
Assist the DOP and COO in collaborating with the development team to identify, cultivate, and secure funding.
Demonstrate, support, and enhance the organization’s mission and values through day-to-day activities.
