The Opportunity
Reporting to the Product Owner of this startup, our DevOps Engineers are focused on automating the deployment of cloud infrastructure and services to support application development and hosting. This includes architecting, engineering, deploying, and operationally managing the underlying logical and physical cloud computing infrastructure.
You will be located at our office in New York City and would be in the office in a hybrid capacity. At this time, sponsorship is not available.

Your Impact
- Support cloud developers in optimizing and automating cloud engineering activities (e.g., real time migration, provisioning, and deployment, etc.)
- Continue improving cloud product reliability, availability, maintainability & cost/benefit, incl. developing fault-tolerant tools to ensure general robustness of the cloud infrastructure
- Spread the benefits of DevOps practices across the company, influencing change towards DevOps
- Design pipeline automation
- Work to develop, configure, code and test programs of low to medium complexity
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of related experience in software engineering or infrastructure engineering
- 1+ years using continuous integration and continuous delivery implementations
- 1+ years of scripting experience
- Knowledgeable in Java, ReactJS and Mobile software engineering
- Expertise in the creation, maintenance and optimization of DevOps pipelines
- Experience in scripting languages, distributed version control systems, Configuration Management, IaC/IaaS
- Experience with modern build experience tools, containers and container orchestration, supporting CI/CD – for full stack development, configuring, deploying and operating public cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Experience with pair programming, continuous integration, test-driven development, incremental design, code refactoring, design patters, design-driven development, continuous deployment, and scalable applications
- Experience with system and network concepts / troubleshooting techniques
- Experience with micro-services architecture
- Experience with latest development technologies
- Expertise in infrastructure as code (e.g., cloud formation, ARM, Terraform)
- Basic familiarity with network features (e.g., cloud network topology, BGP, routing, microservices)
- High availability engineering experience (region, availability zone, data replication clustering)
- Awareness in open-source tools & scripting language (e.g., Python, Terraform, Powershell, Shell)
- Understanding of software development lifecycles and cloud economics, incl. knowledge of consumption driven TCO
- Understanding of network architectures suitable for different cloud topologies with familiarity with user expectations/OLAs for cloud services
- Knowledge of security effects of public and private cloud infra design
- Product development in a scaled Agile environment with awareness of DevOps methodologies and ability/mindset to lead rapid prototyping and piloting of cloud solutions
Candidates looking for an exciting startup environment and growth opportunities with significant earning potential - based on the success of the new organization - this is the company for you! Our compensation package is a competitive combination of base salary, short-term annual bonus, long-term cash-based incentives and a Founder's Bonus for initial team members. Base salary for this role ranges from $105,000-$120,000 plus the strong annual and long-term variable incentives noted. Salary ranges are general guideline only, and actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience and geographic location as well as business and market conditions. This compensation package provides significant rewards to the candidate over-time based on company performance and personal success.
