What we're looking for:
The Digital Media Technician provides expertise in the creation of content eMasters (media essence and composition
for ingest to the DETE vault). This role is responsible for the timely and overall provisioning of media elements such
as non-creative video and audio editing, closed captioning, sub/dub title, and conformance to eMaster technical
specifications.
Responsibilities:
What your job will look like:
  • Leverages VTRs and capture stations for physical media formats (tapes) or digital formats and converts
    them to the DETE eMaster specification and creates detailed metadata (developed specifically for fully
    automated DETE processes).
    • Organizes incoming physical and digital assets for efficient use of resources and maximum facility output.
    • Creates composition metadata for eMaster essence to identify specific content segments, in and out points,
    types of cards, logos, and slates. Assigns controlled vocabulary to metadata fields.
    • Performs CC insertion, subtitle alignment and audio mixing.
    • Does encoding, transcoding, editing, C3, Master QC, analysis, and ingest of files.
    • Executes tracking and monitoring work, updating status and workflow information across various
    databases.
    • Works with clients to review work.
    • Completes projects by working effectively with technical players and coordinating with relevant process
    stakeholders.
    • Conducts effective and professional communication of issues, actions and resolutions covering all the
    responsibilities of the role across customer and supplier base, including internal stakeholders.
    • Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops, reviewing professional publication, and
    participating in professional societies.
Qualifications:
What you will need:

  • Tape to file or file to file, encoding, transcoding, standards conversion, frame rate conversion, aspect ratio
conversion, editing, tape playback, and QC
  • Experience with encoding stations (Digital Rapids, Dalet iCR, Elemental, Ateme)
  • Understanding of formats for television and feature content (ability to recognize Commercial Blacks, Logos,
Bars/Tones, Slates, etc.)
  • PC experience including PC-based captioning software
  • Mac experience including Mac-based captioning software

BA/BS degree required or equivalent experience
