See our EEOD Utilization Report (2020)ABOUT THE DEPARTMENTThe Colorado Department of Public Safety (CDPS) consists of five Divisions: Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Colorado State Patrol (CSP), Division of Criminal Justice (DCJ), Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC), and the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM). The Executive Director's Office (EDO) provides administrative and management services to the operating divisions of the department. COLORADO STATE PATROLThe mission of the Colorado State Patrol is to ensure a safe and secure environment for all persons by utilizing the strengths of its members and providing professional law enforcement services that reflect honor, duty, and respect. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ABOUT THE WORK UNITAs a result of SB 20-217 (Enhance Law Enforcement Integrity) the agency is now legislatively required to have body worn cameras. This is a new program and a new position to the CSP. This work unit exists to provide administrative and program support for the Colorado State Patrol Body worn camera and Digital Video Evidence System (DVES) program(s) operations . DUTIESThis position provides the day-to day operational support to the agency regarding DVES and Body Worn Cameras. Duties may include but are not limited to program and administrative tasks, installation of equipment, troubleshooting operational issues, training members and quality control.Under general supervision of a 2nd level supervisor, this position is responsible for the overall program management of the Body Worn Camera and Digital Evidence Video Systems program. This includes but is not limited to operation and user administration, compliance and audit processes, advise, review and assessment of BWC written directives and processes, training support and IT and vendor coordination. May assist as necessary with installing DVES equipment and maintaining BWC inventories which may include travel. Develop and implement evidence storage and inventory procedures.This position's duties include, but are not limited to the following: Creates processes for the program to monitor top priority risks to the agencyCoordinates with IT to ensure hardware/software readiness and continuity of operations plan(s) for the business unitActs as primary liaison with vendors regarding upgrades, trouble shooting etc.Monitors the availability, maintenance, and replacement schedule of unit evidence equipment and technology.Establishes defined roles for each team member and documents tasks and processes for each roleDevelops and establishes unit/branch written directives and ensures subordinates compliance. Ensures all grant funding reporting is completed on scheduled and submitted to the program administrator. Create life cycle replacement plan Ensures business processes adapt to accreditation requirements, quality standards and written directives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE) Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment.ANDFour years of professional experience in administering digital evidence video systems program, coordinating installation of equipment, troubleshooting operational issues, training members and quality control. SUBSTITUTIONSAdditional appropriate experience will substitute for the degree requirement on ayear-for-year basis. AND/ORAdditional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.If you are using education as a substitute ensure you attach your transcripts to your application.
